SUSAN BEECH- BOTANICAL PAPER ARTIST

BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED PAPER FLOWERS & BOTANICALS

Susan Beech is a paper artist specialising in the making of paper flowers.

Her delicate flowers and botanicals are made under the studio name A Petal Unfolds in East Sussex, UK.

Each piece is made using fine heavyweight crepe paper. This is cut and intricately manipulated, expanding the natural qualities of the paper to create hyper realistic botanicals with the smallest of details. When researching a new art work, Susan uses many different references of real flowers, to single out a particular characteristic of a flower and tell stories with.

Recently, Susan’s practice has moved towards making framed paper botanical pieces, some on a large scale. Her latest collection ‘Fragile Strength’ is showing at Craftworks during London Craft Week.

Commissions from commercial clients have included projects for the The National Trust, Liberty London and the Financial Times.
